This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use bytezenix.in (the "Platform"), including creating an account, publishing ideas or projects, asking or answering questions, commenting, and otherwise participating in the ByteZenix community.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data, regardless of where in the world you are accessing the Platform from — including India, the United States, the European Union, and elsewhere.

Information We Collect

3.1 Account Information

When you create a ByteZenix account, we collect:

  • Username and display name
  • Email address
  • Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form)
  • Optional profile details you choose to add: bio, avatar/photo, social or portfolio links, skills/interests

If you sign up or log in via a third-party provider (e.g., Google, GitHub), we receive basic profile information from that provider as permitted by your settings with them.

3.2 User-Generated Content

Content you create or upload on the Platform, including:

  • Questions, answers, and comments
  • Project showcases, ideas, and tutorials you submit
  • Images, code snippets, files, or other media (stored via Cloudinary — see Section 0x07)
  • Votes, likes, bookmarks, and follows
Note

Most content you post on ByteZenix (questions, answers, projects, profile information) is public by design and visible to other users and visitors, similar to platforms like Stack Overflow or GitHub. Please do not post sensitive personal information in public content.

3.3 Communications

Information you provide when you contact our support team, report content, or message other users (if/when direct messaging is available).

3.4 Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address
  • Browser type, version, and device/OS information
  • Pages visited, time spent, click behavior, search queries within the Platform
  • Referring website/source
  • Approximate location (city/region level, derived from IP)
  • Cookies and similar tracking identifiers

3.5 Cookies & Tracking Tools

We use analytics and tracking tools, including Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, to understand how members use the Platform and measure content/feature performance. See Section 0x08 (Cookies) for details.

  • Display your public profile and content to other users
  • Power core platform features: questions & answers, project showcases, voting, search, recommendations
  • Personalize your experience (e.g., suggested content, notifications)

  • Moderate content and enforce our community guidelines/terms of service
  • Analyze usage trends to improve the Platform
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, fraud, or security incidents

  • This content is visible to other users and, in most cases, the general public (including via search engines)
  • Other users may view, reference, or link to your public content
  • Removing your account does not always immediately remove copies of your content already viewed, cached, indexed, or shared elsewhere

Files uploaded via Cloudinary are stored with publicly generated URLs. Avoid uploading sensitive, private, or confidential files, as anyone with the link may access them.

  • Understand platform usage (Google Analytics)
  • Measure engagement from social sources (Meta Pixel)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some Platform features (e.g., staying logged in). Where required by law, we will request consent before setting non-essential cookies.

  • Account data: retained as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period after deletion for backups/legal compliance
  • Public content: may persist after account deletion if it has been referenced, quoted, or relied upon by other users, unless removal is specifically requested and feasible
  • Analytics data: retained per the settings of our analytics providers (typically 14–26 months for Google Analytics)

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures — including password hashing, access controls, and secure connections — to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by requesting deletion at bytezenix@gmail.com. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile and login credentials will be removed
  • Public content you posted (questions, answers, projects) may remain visible in anonymized or attributed-to-"deleted user" form, to preserve the integrity of community discussions — unless you specifically request individual content removal, which we will review on a case-by-case basis

ByteZenix is intended for users who are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age without appropriate parental consent. Since ByteZenix serves a global community, your data may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, including India and countries where our third-party providers (e.g., Cloudinary, Google) operate servers.
